The new Fohhn® designer line source speakers are a successful symbiosis of design and functionality and were specifically developed for locations with difficult acoustic conditions and long reverberation times such as churches, museums or conference rooms. The line source technology achieves narrow dispersion characteristics along the vertical axis. As a result, the sound is transmitted directly to the audience and reverberations from the ceiling and floor are reduced significantly, thereby improving speech intelligibility. In comparison with conventional sound columns, the vertical dispersion angle of the Linea line source speakers remains constant up to the upper audibility limit and is not restricted. The sound therefore remains constant throughout the whole dispersion range due to a combination of multiple-route technology and a complex passive filter network.

Adaptation to the architectural environment.

An attractive design is important for architecture both in modern and historic buildings. The shapely design of the Linea speakers lends a timeless elegance to any room. The speakers can be integrated discreetly or arranged as a designer feature within the room, depending on the colour selected. The housing is manufactured from resonance-free wood, not from metal as is usually the case. The housing exterior can be painted in a high-quality matt finish in all RAL colours or in a black piano finish and adapted to the architectural requirements. The elegant finish reflects the quality of the speaker system.

amplifiers and control technology.

Everything you need for a perfect sound and reliable operation.

Our DSP amplifiers are fully compatible with Linea line source speakers. Specially adapted power and sound presets for each Linea model are integrated in the DSP amplifiers and guarantee excellent sound production at all volume levels and maximum protection. Integrated DSPs give you access to all the most important digital audio devices and the fully parametric10-band EQs provide vital assistance in setting up demanding lectern and Lavalier microphone applications or adapting Linea systems to the room acoustics. When using several speaker systems, the integrated room delay enables you to delay speakers further away from the microphones so that speech intelligibility and sound in relation to the speaker are perfect throughout the room. If you wish to use existing amplifiers for your project, we recommend the external 19” DSP System Controller FC-8 if possible.

 

Ideal for in-house technicians

8-button wall panel for perfect control and convenient remote operation of DSP amplifiers. You can change the volume or select fixed presets at the press of a button (example: empty room/full room, speech/music). Several remote control modules can be integrated at suitable locations within the room.

First-class music production and perfect speech transmission.

If you require maximum speech intelligibility and perfect music transmission in rooms with difficult acoustic conditions, we recommend a combination of Linea line source speakers and active or passive subwoofer systems (XS-10 active / passive and XS-20 active / passive).

These ultra compact subwoofers complement the Linea speakers in the bass frequency range, produce a full sound with both acoustic and electronic music and are available in all RAL colours. The active subwoofers are equipped with established Fohhn digital amplifiers and digital signal processors to make available all audio devices and protection, monitoring and remote control functions already established in the DSP amplifiers. You have the option of connecting up to 4 Linea line source speakers to one active subwoofer. 2x 500W of power is produced at 4 ohms.

Linea speakers combined with subwoofers form a powerful sound system that blends in perfectly with the surrounding architecture and is capable of broadcasting an outstanding sound, irrespective of the music type. In many cases, this system is a more economical alternative to other systems because of the control and power electronics integrated in the subwoofer. External amplifiers, signal processors and racks are not required.

High-quality accessories add the finishing touch.
